Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Suzie has the unfortunate distinction of being the longest resident at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center. She is a wonderful girl who has had some bad breaks.

She jumped a fence at the home of her original owner. That person gave her to a family with young kids and life was too chaotic for Suzie so she was surrendered to SCACAC on August 29, 2023. This sweet dog has been living in a kennel for nine months!

Suzie is going to be a great companion for the right adopter. She’s a beautiful 4year old German Shorthaired Pointer/Dalmation mix. Our volunteers love this girl! She’s sweet natured and easy to walk on a leash. She loves her volunteer friends and is happy to take a walk and receive lots of love and treats. Nine months in a kennel has not changed her sweet personality.

After a rough start in life, we want Suzie to be in the loving home she deserves.  She’ll do best in a quiet home with adults or kids over the age of 12. No cats or small dogs. Think you might be the right family for Suzie? Please come on out to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center to meet her Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-12:45.
