Mercie Sullivan, 95 departed this life at on Thursday September 19, 2024 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village surrounded by loved ones in Springfield, IL. She was born June 26, 1929, in Henderson, TN the daughter on Tom and Georgie Shields. She was the youngest daughter of 13 children.

Mercie was a homemaker for her husband and 10 children. She never worked outside the home. She visited the sick and shut-in neighbors and was a faithful witness for Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband; John Sullivan Sr. her sons; John Jr., Terry Williams (Pete), Ray. Louis and daughter; Brenda Billops, parents; Tom and Georgie Shields, brothers; Tommy, Harvey, Connar, Manual, Eugene, sisters; Erma, Amanda, Ethel, Lessie, Willie Bee and Gladys.

She leaves to cherish memories; one brother; Marvin Howard Shields, and children; Mary, Michael, Joyce and Darryl, a special niece; Shirley, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, other family members and friends.
