Michelle Sue (Lyons) Smith, 58, of Dawson, IL passed away on Sunday September 22, 2024 in the company of her family.

Michelle was born in Rockford, IL on March 5, 1966 and was the daughter of George Lyons and Mary Carter.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Smith of Dawson; daughter, Tiffany Lyons Matthews of Chatham; son, Casey Matthews of Riverton; son, Tom Lyons of Springfield; daughter, Megan (AJ) Roller of Buffalo; son, Cody (Jenna) Smith of Buffalo; niece, Jessica Lyons of Texas; 19 Grandchildren, and 1 Great Grandchild.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, George Lyons and Mary Carter Scheid; sister, Theresa Fabela; and grandchildren, Gatlin and Wesson Smith.

She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. Michelle didn’t know a stranger and she was extremely kind and loving to her friends and family. She would never let anyone leave her side without saying to them “I love you” or giving them a kiss. Michelle also loved spending time with her family and going out to eat. Her grandchildren were her passion.

Visitation will be held on Thursday September 26, 2024 at Fullenwider Park Funeral Home 200 S Church St, Mechanicsburg, IL 62545 from 10:30 am till the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Park Funeral Homes in Mechanicsburg and Springfield are in charge of arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
