(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Millikin University Board of Trustees has unanimously elected Dean Pribbenow as its 17th president, effective July 1, 2025. He succeeds Jim Reynolds, who stepped down Mar. 1. Board Chairman Ronald Branch is serving as acting president.

Pribbenow is currently vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Elmhurst University. He previously held leadership roles at Edgewood College and Elmhurst, including a brief term as acting president in 2023.

“I am honored to join Millikin University and the Big Blue as its next president,” Pribbenow said. “This institution has a strong and distinctive reputation for academic excellence through performance learning. I look forward to working alongside everyone to build on these strengths and deepen our connections both on and off campus.”

Branch pointed to Pribbenow’s adaptability, fundraising experience, and strategic vision as key factors in his selection.

Pribbenow holds a B.A. in English from Luther College, an M.S. in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
