Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Mayor Misty Buscher and other Springfield area leaders spent part of last week in the nation’s capital, meeting with both of Illinois’ U.S. and the people who represent this area in the House of Representatives.
“Our entire trip was, interestingly enough, very education-based,” said the mayor, “asking for education, whether it’s for our high schools, our two-year college, our four-year college, and, at the city, I asked for funding to help create education-based opportunities throughout the city.”
How does one measure the success of such trips?
“Money,” Buscher responded. “If we get the money, we’re successful, but you can’t go just one time. You have to stay in touch w those congressional delegates throughout the year.
