Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – It might seem like Saturday all over again, but it won’t be.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for noon Monday until 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Forecasters say anywhere from two to five inches more of snow could fall in this area, and for a good portion of northern and Central Illinois.
This comes on top of the Weather Service saying the new total 8.9 inches of snow in Springfield beat the single day record for a one-day snow in November, which was about an inch less. Lincoln also set a single day record of 7.8 inches, an increase of 0.8 inches over the previous record. Peoria had its sixth snowiest November day on record.
