Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The commander of the Illinois Army National Guard now has a general’s star.
“They’ll do what you say because of your rank,” said Brigadier Gen. Lenny Williams (pictured), “but are they doing what you say bc they want to do it? that’s leadership. Turn around and see if anyone’s following you.”
Williams, who grew up in Niantic and Harristown, both near Decatur, has been assistant adjutant general, in charge of the Army National Guard, since last month. He has served since 1990.
