Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The chief nursing officer at HSHS St. John’s Hospital has been promoted to a broader leadership role, now overseeing the HSHS Central Illinois Market. As the new market CNO, Allison Paul will direct nursing operations across multiple hospitals, including St. Mary’s in Decatur, St. Anthony’s Memorial in Effingham, St. Francis in Litchfield, and Good Shepherd in Shelbyville, while continuing her leadership at St. John’s.

Paul started with HSHS in 2015 as the executive director of St. John’s Children’s Hospital and Women’s Servies. During her time with HSHS, she has also served in other various leadership roles within the organization including interim president and CEO of St. John’s Hospital.

Prior to working for HSHS, Paul worked for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria as the director of children’s care services and as a pediatric nurse prior to that.

She graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing with a master’s degree in nursing. Paul also has a doctorate in nursing practice from Rush University College of Nursing.
