Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 51-year-old Petersburg man has been arrested on charges of disseminating and possessing child pornography. The Illinois State Police initiated the investigation of Shane E. Guernsey in June, after discovering he was involved in possessing and sharing child sexual abuse material.

On Thursday, ISP agents, along with the Petersburg Police Department and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, executed a search warrant at Guernsey’s home. During the search, Guernsey was arrested and charged by the Menard County State’s Attorney’s Office. He is currently being held at the Menard County Jail.
