(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A boil order remains in place for some customers in the City of Pittsfield. At about 4 p.m. Tuesday, the city’s water system lost pressure in the affected area due to a water main break and repair. The break caused the affected area of the city to lose volume and fall below the 20 Psi threshold. The boil order will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. Residents will be notified at that time.

(2/18/25) A boil order has been issued for some Pittsfield residents. The order is due to an area of lost pressure after a water main break around 1 p.m. Tuesday. Water customers in the area of Chestnut Street to Chestnut Court and North Dutton from Perry to Chestnut are affected.
The boil order will remain in effect until laboratory sampling confirms that water quality has been fully restored. Residents in the affected area are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for five minutes, and cool before using. Or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and preparing food until further notice.
