Update–  (5/24/24 9:00 p.m.) – The Senate opted not to vote on the budget Friday evening.  Both chambers will be in on Saturday.

(5/24/24 6:36 p.m.) – Illinois lawmakers will miss their self-imposed deadline of Friday night to adjourn the spring session. Late Friday afternoon the proposed budget of roughly $53 billion came together.  The plan is for the Senate to vote on it Friday night and for the House to vote Sunday, perhaps as early as just after midnight.
