Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The City of Springfield announced a couple road closures Wednesday.

Fifteenth Street between Ash Street and Cornell Avenue is closed temporarily for sinkhole repairs. Work is anticipated to be completed on Friday.

Beginning Thursday, Martin Luther King Drive will be closed between Ash Street and Cornell Avenue for sewer repairs. Work is expected to be completed by Friday.

Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes, exercise caution, and slow down while driving in work zones to avoid delays.
