Springfield, ILĀ (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A 21-year-old Springfield woman is behind bars at the Sangamon County Jail after being arrested Thursday for conspiracy to commit murder and aggravated battery. Keundra T. Daniels is the second person to be arrested in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Sammie Tyrone McClinton. The first arrest is Daniels’ brother Shelton A. Woolridge.
McClinton was found by officers with multiple gunshot wounds in the 700 block of North 5th Street on July 25.
Woolridge, of Springfield, was arrested the day of the shooting in the 2700 block of South MacArthur Blvd. He was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm. Officers recovered the firearm used in the homicide.
Daniels is set to be in court Friday for a first appearance and petition to detain hearing.
