Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) A 29-year-old Springfield man is in custody in Troy, Illinois after being arrested Thursday morning in connection with the May 6th shooting at The Cove in Springfield. Cody Desilva was arrested by the Southern Illinois Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force as the result of an investigation by the Sangamon County Sheriff’s office.

The arrest stems from the shooting of a bouncer at the North Dirsken Parkway bar after the staffer confronted people loitering in the parking lot.

In addition to Sangamon County charges of aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a weapon by a felon, Desilva is facing additional felony charges in Madison County.
