Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The CEO of Springfield Memorial Hospital will leave his job at the end of the week.

According to a statement from Drew Early, Memorial Health Chief Operating Officer, Jay Roszhart is resigning, and his last day will be Friday, June 12.

Roszhart, who has been with Memorial in various capacities since 2009 reportedly, was named CEO of the flagship hospital in July, 2024.

In Early’s statement, no mention was made of a successor for Roszhart, who just appeared on the WTAX Morning Newswatch in May to praise employees during “Healthcare Week.”

“Jay Roszhart has notified Memorial Health officials of his intention to step away from his role as Springfield Memorial Hospital president and CEO to pursue other opportunities. His last day will be June 12.  Jay’s commitment to building relationships, strengthening culture, and advancing innovation has left a meaningful impact on SMH and Memorial Health. We are grateful for his leadership, unique perspective, and dedication to our mission, and wish him the best.”
