Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield police reported two incidents over the past week that resulted in multiple arrests, including juveniles, for weapons violations.

Around 11 p.m. Thursday, officers stopped a vehicle in the 1800 block of East Cedar Street as part of an ongoing investigation. All five occupants were arrested. Three were juveniles and were taken to the Sangamon County Juvenile Detention Center. The two adults were booked into the Sangamon County Jail.

Police recovered three firearms from the vehicle, including a loaded Springfield Armory pistol, a Sharps Brothers .223 AR pistol with a loaded magazine and a round in the chamber, and a loaded Smith & Wesson that had been reported stolen. Authorities said names are being withheld as the investigation continues.

Just after midnight Friday, officers responded to a report of a person with a weapon at the Main Gate Bar and Grill, 2143 N. 11th St. Witnesses told police a man involved in a disturbance inside the bar was asked to leave. He allegedly said he was going to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle, then pointed the weapon at several patrons outside before driving away.

Officers stopped the vehicle a short time later and found a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun in the man’s pocket.

Kaidon M. Holdman, 22, of Athens was arrested and booked into the Sangamon County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and driving under the influence.
