Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Springfield Police Department and Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office have been awarded $121,391 from the Department of Justice to support various projects and initiatives aimed at reducing violent crime. The funding is part of over $400,000 in Justice Assistance Grants allocated to several law enforcement agencies in Central Illinois.
