Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The City of Springfield has announced plans to appoint Amy Rasing as the director of Office of Planning and Economic Development.
Rasing has been with the city for over a year as the grants operations coordinator, and according to information provided by the city, she has played a key role in securing several grants and advancing the city’s planning and economic development efforts.
Mayor Misty Buscher supports Rasing’s appointment.
“Amy Rasing has proven herself to be a trailblazer who understands the critical role that planning and economic development play in shaping the future of our community. Her innovative mindset and strong leadership make her the ideal choice to lead the Office of Planning and Economic Development. I am confident that Amy will continue to advance Springfield’s goals and create new opportunities for growth.”
Rasing’s appointment is pending city council approval on Dec. 17.
