SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Instead of promoting all of the Springfield area’s attractions, Amy Beadle will be focusing her work hours on just one. Beadle, who has been director of marketing for the city’s tourism bureau, Visit Springfield, begins a new job Sept. 14 as director of operations for the Governor’s Mansion.
“Amy will make an excellent addition to our team because of her substantial background, strong event management skills, and most importantly, her passion and dedication for Illinois and everyone that calls our capital city home,” said Illinois First Lady MK Pritzker in a written statement provided to the Springfield Business Journal. “We look forward to seeing all she will accomplish in her new role and can’t wait to welcome her to the Executive Mansion.”
“It is an honor to serve the first family and the people of Illinois in this capacity,” Beadle told the Business Journal in a separate written statement. “After serving the local community for more than three decades, I am thrilled to bring my leadership, experience and passion to a higher level as executive director of operations of the Illinois Governor’s Mansion, bringing the new vision of First Lady MK Pritzker to life.”
Springfield Business Journal executive editor Michelle Ownbey discussed Beadle’s move during the WTAX Morning Newswatch.
