Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) —The City of Springfield has announced 2nd Street between Capitol Avenue and Jackson Street will be closed to construct a new storm sewer connection into the existing sewer infrastructure under 2nd Street.

The closure will begin Tuesday and is expected to be completed by Thursday, weather permitting. During this period, 2nd Street will be entirely closed to traffic between Capitol Avenue and Jackson Street.
