Taylorville, IL (WAND) – A Taylorville man has been arrested on child pornography charges. Taylorville Police executed a search warrant at an apartment late Wednesday night, deploying the Emergency Response Team based on the suspect’s past behaviors and the fact that he possesses a FOID card.
Jeffrey Dyer, 57, was apprehended without incident. Dyer has been charged with offenses including child pornography possession, distribution, and grooming, “underscoring the severity of the case,” according to Taylorville police.
Taylorville Police Chief Dwayne Wheeler said, “Cases involving crimes against children are particularly distressing, and the apprehension of individuals involved in such reprehensible activities is of utmost importance to our department and the community we serve. We are committed to tirelessly pursuing justice and safeguarding the well-being of our most vulnerable citizens.”
