Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – As recently announced by the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, Chief Storyteller Jamie Toole and his wife Melissa Gaynor-Toole will be stepping away from their respective roles. Toole stopped by The WTAX Morning Newswatch to discuss the topic at hand.

“I want to stress to everyone that the team signed a 20-year lease to be here. That’s a long-term plan for this organization as well as the Quincy doggy paddlers and the Decatur bean ballers. For Melissa and I, as you know, probably we’ve been running pretty hard for almost 6 years now.
Extremely gratifying, and, you know, as a family, you know, we got some things that we’d like to do and travel and see some family more during the summer month, and it seemed like this is the best time during this transition”

Is the vision for the team completed for you?

Well, I certainly don’t think we’ve completed the vision here by any means.
And in fact, I think the best days are ahead of Robin Roberts Stadium. I think the best days are ahead of the horseshoes. I believe our ownership group is committed to a long-term vision, see, and that through, I think from, for me, it’s more of just, a little bit of a fatigue issue after, you know, going 6 years hard and traveling back and forth from home, being here in Springfield, we’ve lived here in Springfield, the majority of the calendar years for this is the 6th year.
So being back home in Florida and, you know, seeing some family and, you know, just making sure that maybe a little bit more balance in our lives, but I’m so proud of, of the foundation that we have with the horseshoes. “
