Springfield, IL  (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Downtown Springfield, Inc. has partnered with Locable to launch a new app designed to provide visitors and residents with a comprehensive guide to everything downtown—dining, shopping, parking, hotels, attractions, and more.”

The free app offers business and attraction information as well as an interactive map to help users navigate the downtown district.

Cassie Grey-Sautelet, program manager for DSI, said the app is designed to be very user-friendly.

“We always see people walking around looking at their phones and searching for info on where to go and what to do,” Sautelet said. “We were looking for another way for people to integrate themselves into downtown and for our businesses to showcase what we have to offer.”

The app allows businesses to enhance their listings by adding photos, menus and other features to enrich the user experience. Sautelet said the information on the app will continue to grow and event information will be updated regularly.

While DSI will continue providing traditional paper walking maps, the new digital tool offers a more interactive and accessible way to explore Springfield’s historic downtown.
