Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Thirteen “unclaimed” veterans and one spouse are alone no more.

Camp Butler National Cemetery hosted an interment service Wednesday for the Central Illinoisans. The cemetery’s assistant director, Christopher Webstar, explained, “There are many veterans who die alone or linger unburied due to their family situations or other circumstances,” adding those who attended the ceremony are now family.
