Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The victim in a weekend stabbing death has been identified.
Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon says Aaron Lee Parish, Sr., 48, was pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital Saturday morning, first reported around 4:45 a.m. in the 400 block of North 4th St. in Springfield.
Preliminary findings from an autopsy indicate Parrish died from a stab wound.
Several hours after the stabbing Saturday, Springfield Police arrested Natasha Blackwell, 44. Online court records indicate Blackwell faces three counts of First Degree Murder, and one count of Aggravated Domestic Battery.
Prosecutors have filed a request to deny Blackwell pretrial release. It’s not clear, however, when she will next be in court.
Police are said to still be investigating.
