Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sinclair Broadcast Group is selling five of its television stations, including Central Illinois’ WICS and WICD, to Rincon Broadcasting Group.
According to the Springfield Business Journal, the purchase price is set at $29.4 million for the group of stations which also includes KHQA in Quincy, KTVO serving Ottumwa, Iowa and WVTV in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Todd Parkin, previously with Bally’s Sports Networks, is the principal owner of Rincon Broadcasting.
In mid-2024, Sinclair announced it was looking to sell off more than 30% of its 185 owned or operated broadcast stations and had hired an investment bank to assist, according to CNBC.
The sale requires approval by the Federal Communications Commission.
