The FBI Springfield office has set up what they call a Southern Illinois Organized Crime Task Force and they are getting down to work.

The University of Illinois Springfield is one of five public liberal arts institutions to receive part of a $25,000 National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant aimed at helping public colleges and universities navigate the world of artificial intelligence. The funding was awarded through a partnership with the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC).

In 1837, the Illinois legislature decided to relocate the capital to Springfield, citing its central location and better accessibility. Construction on the current Illinois State Capitol building was started in 1868, and was designed by Chicago architect John C. Cochran in partnership with Alfred H. Piquenard. The project was completed in 1888.
