The U.S. Postal Service on Tuesday is releasing eight stamps marking significant parts of the road in each of the states it traverses, passing by vintage diners, gas stations and motels — many since preserved or restored — along with breathtaking vistas and wide horizons of the open road.
“This could have happened anywhere, but what happened tonight was a dispute between two people. Unfortunately, it happened at a treasured St. Louis staple,” said Mitch McCoy, spokesperson for St. Louis police.
Oral history is a part of this exhibit.
“It takes somebody with the heart, the drive, not to be afraid to protect that child. Everybody in our chapter, everywhere, has to be ready to lay down and take a bullet for that kid.”
