Illinois Republicans celebrate Trump’s vision for 2nd term.

The coalition is seeking immediate court action, including a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, to block the executive order from taking effect.

Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich said the reports of mass deportations targeting the Chicago area “are not only profoundly disturbing but also wound us deeply.”

There are executive orders already prepared for Trump’s signature that will end diversity, equity and inclusion funding, crack down on border crossings and ease regulations on oil and natural gas production.

Trump said he’d take quick action on everything from cracking down on the U.S.-Mexico border to promoting oil drilling, reining in the federal workforce and eradicating diversity programs.

The Brennan Center projects that California will lose four seats and New York two in the 2030 census. Illinois, Minnesota, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Wisconsin would lose one seat each.
