Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) -Culinary arts and hospitality management students are set to once again get real-world experience at Bistro Verde, a student-led café at Lincoln Land Community College. The lunch spot is located at the east entrance of the Workforce Careers Center on LLCC’s campus and is part of the LLCC Hospitality and Culinary Arts program.
Bistro Verde will reopen to the public on September 3. Initially, the café will operate as “Bistro To Go,” a counter service offering a variety of soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods, coffees, and drinks. This service will be available from September 3 through October 3, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Starting October 22, Bistro Verde will transform into a full-service, dine-in restaurant offering a casual lunch experience. The menu will expand to include appetizers, chef-inspired dishes, and desserts, all prepared from scratch with high-quality ingredients. This phase will run through November 21, excluding November 5, with reservations recommended.
The café also hosts non-credit cooking and baking classes, along with special dinners. More details, including menus and reservation information, can be found at www.llcc.edu/bistro-verde.
