The UIS men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Missouri-St. Louis on Friday night at Kiwanis Stadium. With this result, UIS moves to 4-3-3 overall and 4-1-3 in the GLVC, while UMSL stands at 3-3-4 and 1-2-4 in conference play.
Despite attempts by Gabe Smyth and Corne Boshoff in the first half, the Prairie Stars were unable to find the back of the net during the first 45 minutes of play. In the 90th minute, the UMSL goalkeeper deflected a header from Joey Fitzgerald, and Or Levinstein capitalized, netting the equalizer for UIS.
UIS recorded seven total shots, while UMSL had six, with both teams registering three shots on target.

UMSL opened the scoring in the 23rdminute when Jada Holloman found the back of the net, assisted by Kayley Judy. Katelynn Ward leveled the match just before halftime, capitalizing on an assist from Carolyne Mathenia. Ward’s goal marked her fourth of the season allowed the Prairie Stars to enter the break tied 1-1.
The second half saw UIS pushing for control, but UMSL regained the lead in the 60th minute with Holloman striking again, marking her second goal of the match. Despite several promising opportunities, UIS struggled to find the equalizer.
