Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – “Governors Safeguarding Democracy” is the name of a group Gov. JB Pritzker has helped start in response to the re-election of Donald Trump as president. But, WTAX News asked the governor, who is going to look 76 million American voters in the eye and say, you made a terrible choice?

“I don’t think anybody is looking anybody else in the eye and saying that,” Pritzker said Wednesday. “It’s clear Donald Trump won. He won the popular vote by more than two percent. I wouldn’t call that a landslide, but it was certainly a victory. And it’s clear that his administration is going to have the ability to make changes and proposals, so we are just here as the state of Illinois having to deal with whatever those changes may be.”

There is some fear the federal government in the new Trump administration will take money away from states whose policies go against what Trump wants.
