Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The City of Springfield is announcing the release of its proposed Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) budget, which they say is highlighting a balanced Corporate Fund budget that focuses on key community priorities, including citizen safety, infrastructure improvement, economic development, and enhanced Public Works services.
The schedule for the FY26 Budget Workshops is as follows:
Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 5:30 PM
1st Workshop: Overview, Mayor’s Office, Treasurer’s Office, City Clerk, City Council, Springfield Convention & Visitors Bureau (SCVB), and Lincoln Library.
Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 5:30 PM
2nd Workshop: Presentations by Human Resources (HR), Office of Planning and Economic Development (OPED), Office of Budget and Management (OBM), and Public Works.
Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 5:30 PM
3rd Workshop: Presentations by the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Water, Light, and Power (CWLP).
