(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Morgan County man is facing charges after being arrested for allegedly producing and possessing child pornography at his home. The Illinois State Police began investigating forty-one-year-old Corey J. Lucas of Murrayville in March 2024. ISP reports Lucas became aware of the charges on Friday and made suicidal statements. ISP reports he was found armed with a handgun when Morgan County deputies conducted a wellbeing check. Lucas then barricaded himself in his home, and ISP SWAT officers and a crisis negotiation team worked with Lucas before eventually taking him into custody around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Lucas was transported to the Morgan County Jail and is charged with three counts of production of child pornography and three counts of possession of child pornography – all class X felonies.
