Chicago, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Montgomery County man will spend time in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography-related charges.’
The Illinois Attorney General’s office says Troy A. Shull, 46, was recently sentenced to eighteen years on charges of Possession of Child Pornography. Once he’s out, Shull will have to be on parole for three years, and must register as a sex offender for life.
“I am grateful to partner with Attorney General Raoul and his staff to ensure justice in this case,” Andrew Affrunti, Montgomery County State’s Attorney, said in a news release. “This case continues our commitment towards holding those who abuse or exploit children in Montgomery County accountable for their actions.”
Officials say Shull had what they called “child sexual abuse material” when his home was searched in September of 2023.
“The young victims who are exploited and abused by child sexual abuse material deserve the justice this sentence represents, and I am hopeful it helps as they continue to heal from trauma,” said Kwame Raoul, Illinois Attorney General, in the same release.
Shull pleaded guilty prior to sentencing.
