Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Springfield attorney who has spent time representing numerous governmental entities will have her law license suspended as of next month.
The Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission says Salena Young’s license will be suspended on June 12 for two years.
Young spent nearly two years as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General between 2021 and 2023, and the commission says she also was a part-time Sangamon County Public Defender while operating a private practice.
She allegedly filed false time sheets at that time claiming she worked a full day for the AG.
Young also worked an an attorney for the city of Springfield after that, where she allegedly forwarded confidential e-mails to her romantic partner.
The Illinois Times reported last year that Young resigned from the AG’s office rather than cooperate with an investigation.
