Decatur, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Macon County man gets eight years in prison after he was caught distributing child pornography.
The Illinois Attorney General’s Office says Charles Bolsen, 66, Decatur, pleaded guilty Thursday to felony counts of Dissemination and Possession of Child Pornography. Dissemination of Child Pornography is a Class X felony, while Possession of Child Porn is a Class 2 felony.
Investigators from the office, along with Decatur Police and Macon County Sheriff’s Deputies, searched Bolsen’s home last July, discovering what they said was child sexual abuse material.
“Today’s sentence represents justice for exploited and abused children and acknowledges the often lifetime of trauma survivors and their families experience,” said Kwame Raoul, Illinois Attorney General, in a statement Thursday. “My office will continue to collaborate with law enforcement officers throughout the state to protect children from exploitation and hold offenders accountable.”
The AG’s office says they’ll continue to investigate and arrest people who download and/or trade such material online.
