Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The rising cost of before- and after-school care in District 186 is a concern administrator Terrance Jordan is feeling.
The popular Scope program now must be self-sufficient, after the administration’s attempt to transfer it to the YMCA failed.
“Currently, if they don’t receive CCC, which is Community Child Care Connection, that price is $115 per child,” said the district’s Terrance Jordan, “and we have received emails from concerned parents about that increase and how it may be pricing them out.”
Jordan, the district’s director of school leadership and family and community engagement, told the school board Monday a break is possible for families with more than two children.
