Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Police Street Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop near York and Taylor Aves. Sunday around 2 in the morning.

Inside the vehicle were 18 year old Corey Ballard and 3 juveniles.

Officers saw an open bottle of alcohol and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle and passengers police found 2 9mm pistols both with extended magazines.

Ballard and one of the juveniles were arrested and charged with various gun crimes.
