Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – You could call it the I-72 transfer.

The presidents of Lincoln Land Community College and Millikin University Thursday signed an agreement under which LLCC graduates with an associate’s degree and 2.0 grade point average earn automatic acceptance to Millikin.

“The opportunity for students to come to Millikin gives them a chance to be part of a caring community, just like here at Lincoln Land, and provide them with an affordable option. And that’s a big deal for us,” said Millikin president Jim Reynolds (pictured, right).

“We’ve taken some time to think, how can we make higher education more accessible and affordable?”

“We’re just really happy to have another tool in our tool belt: a good opportunity for our students to get a seamless education; to know that when they leave here that there is an institution that will take good care of them,” said LLCC president Charlotte Warren (pictured, left), “and make sure that they don’t have missteps, that it’s a seamless transfer and a good step for their future.”
