Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Spring cleaning? Don’t forget your refrigerator! CWLP Energy Services says you can improve energy efficiency by throwing away expired items, wiping the shelves, cleaning the coils, and vacuuming the area beneath your refrigerator. Cleaning the coils and vacuuming helps improve energy efficiency and prevent potential issues by removing dust and debris that can hinder airflow and cooling. Make sure your refrigerator is set between 35°F and 38°F and your freezer at 0°F, and regularly defrost your freezers and refrigerators.
