Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The kennels at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center are completely full and some of the dogs have been waiting months to meet their new families. Our Dog of the Week is one of the long timers.

Brutus is a handsome guy who came to us in April as a stray. He’s about two years old. Brutus is a big guy and he’s strong but he has a sweet temperament. He loves his walks and play time, and his human friends. If you’re looking for a big high energy dog to be your new buddy, come on out to Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center and ask to meet Brutus.

Brutus and all of the other dogs at SCACAC are available for foster, foster to adopt, and adoption. Our staff will be happy to explain your options. Shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
